Blackpool is getting a brand new museum. And it’s the first of it’s kind. The name “SHOWCASE” was announced n the 9th of January much to the delight of everyone involved in the £13 million project.
The museum is to showcase 6 main themes. “Beside The Seaside”. “How’s Tricks”. “It’s showtime”. “It’s better with the lights on”. “Everybody Dance Now” and “Roll Up, Roll Up”. The themes will be dedicated to Blackpool past and present and will be an education for both visitors to the town and residents alike.
The museum is a permanent feature and will be open all year round.
Located in Blackpool’s own 5 star “Sands Venue Resort Hotel” the museum is in a prime location to become a favourite attraction in the Fylde Coast.
All-in-all the museum will be a brilliant addition to the town.
Funded by various avenues. The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Northern Cultural Regeneration Fund, Growth Deal from the LEP, Coastal Communities Fund, Blackpool Council and “other” fundraising the museum is a serious new addition to the town.
We can’t wait to visit and will be sure to bring our in-depth review and a full gallery as soon as possible.
